After years of making custom, Boutique snare drums, we had been itching to make some full drum sets. So we took our award-winning contoured Ash Stave snare drum and scaled it up to make this visionary 7-piece kit.
Each drum shell is made from scratch. We start by selecting the highest quality North American white ash Lumber. The lumber is then milled into segments with angles on the edges called staves. All of the staves are glued together to form a blank, and the blank is then machined into a perfect cylinder inside and out.
The shells have our signature "contoured" shape, with a smooth cove machined into the exterior of the center of each shell.
Playing drums that are made from solid wood rather than plywood is a truly game-changing experience. The presence, tone, and expressive qualities you can achieve from this type of drum towers above any other type of drum shell Construction.
We topped off the immaculately built shells with our custom mirror gloss lacquer finish in an electric ocean blue burst.
Finally, the shells are dressed with only the highest quality components. Black nickel over solid brass tube lugs, 12.7 mm floor tom legs and brackets with memory locks, isolation mounts for the rack toms with 12.7mm clamps, heavy duty telescoping bass drum legs, Precision machined 2.3 mm triple flanged hoops, and of course a diecast antique silver hhg badge.
The kit features all Evans drumheads, ec2 clear tom batters, ec2 reso bottom heads on the toms, emad 2 kick batter, calftone bass drum reso, hazy 300 snare side head, and coated reverse center power dot snare batter.
This kit is the Pinnacle of our achievements here at HHG. We genuinely cannot wait to ship this kit to its new owner. It will be an amazing crown jewel in any collection as well as an absolute workhorse in the studio and live settings!
