Description

14x7 Bubinga, Tulipwood, and Maple snare.

High Gloss Natural Lacquer, Herringbone Inlay, Black Nickel Hardware . Featuring heavy-duty no flange hoops with Art Deco claws, vintage style strainer, internal tone control mechanism with a solid ebony wood knob, diecast air vent, diecast buttplate, 24 strand puresound custom Pro snare wires, and our signature Evans heads top and bottom.

The shell is comprised of inner and outer plies of pommel figured Bubinga, followed by a thick tulipwood on the inside and outside- all of that surrounding a 3 ply North American hard maple core. All HHG ply shells are handcrafted one of the time in our shop in Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania.

The sound of this drum is the exact sound I hear in my head when I'm looking for THAT snare drum sound. Articulate, crispy, and powerful- but works well in all dynamic ranges. I prefer it tuned up medium-high, but she also absolutely sings in a low to medium-low tuning due to the dark tonal characteristics of the Bubinga.

Our simple yet bulletproof internal tone control mechanism adds a fantastic degree of options to this drum. With no muffling applied whatsoever the drum has pleasant and warm tones but you can quickly switch to a very staccato sound with one simple turn of the knob.

I think it will be a star player in anybody's arsenal of snare drums. It will be an absolute crowd-pleaser in any live situation, but I get the feeling it would also record like a dream in the studio.
We are super stoked at how well this drum came out, and we can't wait to build another. There are tons of options available, to make yours unique and one of a kind. As with all of our drums and listings shown, when you place an order with HHG Drums, your new instrument will be hand-crafted in house, from scratch. The drum shown in the pictures was built for a customer, and now resides with them.

Thank you so much for looking!!!
