Description

This shell is a 14"x6" Mappa Burl outer ply, Maple and Poplar core, and an aromatic Cedar inner ply. We can construct this drum in any desired diameter or depth to best suit your needs. Just ask!

A mixture of these four wood species should make for an incredibly articulate and musical snare drum. Mappa burl, Poplar, and Cedar are all relatively soft wood species which should give this drum incredible low-end, and a ridiculously Fat Sound. However, when tempered with the very hard North American Hard Rock maple, the shell should make for a very musical drum that is articulate, punchy, and able to handle a wide range of tunings.

Feel free to let us know what color hardware you would like us to put on your new drum. We can do gold, chrome, or black nickel.

The images of this listening show our standard HHG single point "Gear" lugs, 2.3 mm triple flanged hoops, a vintage style strainer, diecast butt plate, diecast air vent, a custom HHG badge, Evans drum heads, and Puresound Pro snare wires. If you would like to substitute any of that for some specific Hardware of your choosing, feel free to shoot us a message, through this may increase the price.

The finish pictured is a lovely natural to deep blue fade, finished in high gloss. Finish options for your new drum are only limited by your mind. We can do a hand-rubbed natural satin oil, a satin lacquer, or a high-gloss lacquer, or anything else you can imagine. We can do literally any color scheme you can dream up. We can also do things like rats, inlays, Sparkle lacquers, custom badges (as pictured) and custom artwork. Literally anything you can dream up.

You can choose the bearing edges as well if you have something specific in mind, otherwise we will cut our standard Edge which consists of a 1/8 inch radius on that outside cut, and a 45 degree inside cut.

We're incredibly excited to see this snare drum "out in the wild", it's among the best we've ever built. We hope you decide to scoop it up today and add it to your collection!
