We wanted to build a drum the captured all of the Romanticism and charm of the 1920s. This is the instrument that we came up with.
It starts with a 13 ply cherry wood shell. Then we apply power custom blue and gold metallic paisley print to the inside and outside of the drum.
Cherrywood is an ideal species for musical instruments, and it makes for an amazing drum. It is slightly softer than maple and has he beautiful dark and musical voice. It performs very well throughout the full spectrum of tuning ranges from low and guttural, all the way to piccolo highs.
the drum is adorned with our proprietary single point lugs in chrome, no flange hoops, Art Deco vintage-style style claws, brass tension rods for a touch of contrast, a vintage style strainer, diecast HHG badge, diecast butt plate and air vent, and 42 strand snare wires.
Every once in awhile we come up with the design that we are truly head over heels in love with, and wouldn't change a single thing about. This is one of those recipes.
